根据美国著名排行榜杂志《Billboard》最新发布的年终榜单来看,迈克尔·杰克逊(MichaelJackson)经典专辑《颤栗》(Thriller)的25周年纪念版,成为了2008年度最畅销的经典老专辑。

在年终最畅销流行老专辑榜上,《颤栗》25周年纪念专辑夺得冠军,此外,在前10名中,杰克逊的冠军精选《独一无二》(NumberOnes)也名列年终最畅销流行老专辑榜的第10名。而在年终最畅销R&B老专辑榜上,《颤栗25》也夺得冠军,《独一无二》拿下第四名。

迈克尔·杰克逊因为有这两张专辑进榜,而拿下年度最畅销老专辑艺人的第二名,仅次于加拿大歌手迈克尔·巴布(MichaelBuble),此人有三张专辑打入年度前100名。

在年度综合销售榜上,《颤栗25》名列第57名,《独一无二》排名第134。迈克尔·杰克逊名列2008年度最畅销艺人榜的34位。新版《WannaBeStartin'Somethin'》名列年终最热舞曲俱乐部曲目榜的第19位。年度最畅销音乐录影榜上,《独一无二》的DVD名列第26位。

这首曲目是当年《Thriller》时期录制的,本计划收录在2001年的特别版里,但后来取消。因此,该曲就从来没有在之前公开发行过,也没有被任何人泄露过。对歌迷来说,是一首全新的单曲。至于为什么只有日本版的《Thriller》收录这首单曲,这是由于日本版比世界上其它地区的版本都要昂贵。唱片公司为了让日本歌迷不去其它地区购买相对便宜的版本,所以只好加入新曲目来吸引日本歌迷购买。之前杰克逊的《终极收藏》等专辑的日本版,都加了不少歌曲。此外,这也可以理解为Michael为了感谢日本歌迷的忠诚而做出的特别举动,毕竟,Michael仅在日本的唱片总销量就高达一亿张。
